What is Vundo?

Vundo is a Trojan virus that infects your computer by exploiting a Java vulnerability. Vundo is referred to as a rootkit virus because of what it does next--root into your registry with dynamic file names that are difficult to remove. Vundo opens the door for further infection by sending you to rogue anti-spyware sites that use scare tactics to get you to pay for a “full version” which will run itself and falsely tell you it found and removed infections. The way Vundo opens the door for more infections is by installing rogue anti-spyware programs with the “full version” that are bundled with other malware. This malware can open you up to identity theft or worse--expose your bank account information.
