WinComm-A Malware Champion!This is a featured page

WinComm is a no win situation. It is a malware infector. Take the word mal – derived from a Latin word meaning bad. Ware was the old school slang term for software. Then you have infector – kind of like the greasy guy you meet at the bar. It seems pretty cut and dry. WinComm is not anything you want to mess around with.

WinComm has been on the scene for a while. Does the name sound hauntingly familiar, but you are unable to place it? In the early '90s it was the name of a piece of communication software that went under. It has also been associated with Trojans. When it is all said and done, it is plain and simple adware.

Adware in and of itself is not all that harmful. It is just a small file that tracks your browsing habits. The problem is that you don't know who is tracking the information. The adware acts as a gateway to a multitude of problems. You will start to experience pop-ups, pop-unders, banners, and spam email. Your computer slows down dramatically as it runs the whole time in the background. System crashes are common once this type of software is planted on your computer. The problem is that many of the 3rd party advertisers that they sell the information to are associated with even more spyware. It's spyware stacked on top of spyware. No wonder the whole computer eventually crashes!

If you catch it early enough, you should be able to remove it. It's not that simple, though. You can't just go to your Add/Remove button and presto-it's gone! You can look around and find tons of forums that will tell you different files to delete. Not one will have the same list. This is because it’s hard to track.

If you need to get rid of a program like WinComm, your best bet is to find a reputable anti-spyware program that will demolish it. Plus, you will be protected in the future. A reliable program can be hard to find. Look for one that has a 24 hour removal guarantee.
