When I signed on to the internet, I didn’t know that I was going to have an unwanted companion. I guess now the big question is whether or not I really want to keep it or not. I guess the main annoyance is that my home page has been changed from my usual one to mycriteria.com. I can’t seem to change it back, either. Besides, I much prefer Google to MyCriteria. My computer got to be kind of ‘glitchy’ so I thought I’d do something about it. I downloaded SpyZooka since I’ve heard so many great things about it. I ran a spyware scan and saw .CommanderNET as a PUP.

I didn’t know what a PUP was, so I went ahead and deleted it. The little gripes I had went away, and I was pretty much happy from then on out. After that, I decided I should probably look into what a PUP was. It turns out, PUP means “potentially unwanted program.” These programs are kind of like adware programs in that they use your memory without telling you, but you might have to keep them to keep some services. Since I’m not signed on for any services, I guess that means I’m fine with getting rid of .CommanderNET.
