Antivirus XP 2008. The name sure sounds legitimate, doesn't it? That was its designers' whole purpose--to look like something legitimate so that people will pay money for it. Unfortunately, Antivirus XP 2008 is a piece of fraudulent software - a fake antivirus tool. It will give you fake threats so that you'll buy its "upgraded" version. It may also: Disable your firewall. Your firewall keeps unauthorized users from gaining access to your computer. Without this firewall, anybody in your local coffee shop, or even halfway around the world, has a good chance of gaining access! Keep you from launching Windows control panel. Control panel lets you set everything from your desktop background, to user passwords, and any of 100 other things that become necessary to do with time. Good ol' Antivirus XP 2008 will cut off this option for you! If you find this nasty bugger on your computer, get rid of Antivirus XP 2008 as soon as possible.
